Flo Prints In The Sand

Flo Prints In the Sand
Cast a memory in glass to keep forever

Flo Glassblowing is excited to officially launch Flo Prints in the sand.

This fun, commissioned product creates individually cast glass impressions of your little one’s feet and hands.  Even paw prints of your favourite fur friends can be made into treasured keepsakes to last a lifetime.

Come to Flo Glassblowing in person to pick up your kit and the imprint can be done at home! Customers will be provided with a detailed document outlining step-by-step instructions on how to create your perfect print in a soft, colourful, modeling dough.

Once fully cured, the printed moulds are brought back to Flo Glassblowing’s studio, where it is pressed into fresh, specially mixed, sand.  Hot molten glass is then poured directly onto the impression using a technique called Sandcasting! The clear glass tiles cool overnight in a kiln and the finished result is a stunning commemorative keepsake.

Unlike ink or clay prints, these glass impressions are mess free and will never break down. The finished pieces are designed to stand upright where they can catch the light and showcase beautifully as an art piece with extra special sentiment.  Perfect in front of the window or on any mantel, they also make for lovely bookends or window tiles. Most importantly, each finished item is solid and extremely durable, so that it can be cherished forever in your home and for generations to come.

Flo Prints are available in two sizes:

Small – $59+hst
4” square and ideal for newborns and small pets

Medium – $69+hst
5.5” square and ideal for baby to young children as well as larger pets.

Please note: the imprints for the small size must be no larger than 2.75″ and for the medium size no larger than 4.25″. Please measure the hand or paw you intent to make a print of at the widest measurement before ordering your kit to ensure that you purchase the correct size.

We are launching our local, in-store sales of these sandcasting kits today but online ordering is coming soon! To be the first to find out when online ordering is available please sign up to our email newsletter or email us a floglassblowing@gmail.com with your contact information to go on the waiting list.
