Robin Ritter

Robin Ritter is a young mixed media artist from Waterloo, ON. She was introduced to furnace blowing at Blown Away Glass in Elora, ON (2011) She was attracted to blown glass for the physicality and attention to detail it demands. She continued her studies at Sheridan College in the Crafts and Design Glass Program (2015) and through her independently created home studio for flameworking. Recipient of the Glen Williams Glass Blowing Award (2014) and the Cutting Edge Award (2015) for her academic achievements.  Her three biggest tips for creating glass work are: Repeat it! Draw it! Talk about what you’re making with other makers!

Robin enjoys makiscreen cap working shotng expressive collage style drawings, paintings and decorative sculptures. She has translated her skill of painting onto skin as a face and body painter for adults and children. Robin would like to recreate and build on the ideas and images in her paintings with stained glass. Her favourite piece to blow is a cup because it is light and quick allowing for a ton of repetition. Robin thinks of creating art as a profession and lifestyle. Her goal is to seek opportunities that challenge and strengthen her abilities.
